A to muszą tą płytke Soulsaversów zassać. Wogóle na lastfm fajnie o ich dorobku piszą. Jest króciutka notka o składzie i powstaniu, potem obszerna, kwiecisto-poetycka recenzja tej płytki z 2007 i o najnowszej jedno zdanie: "ostatnio wydali nową płytę, i też jest smutna" :D

A commission to save Seattle's music?

It's been nearly two decades since the grunge explosion changed Seattle forever, now Mayor McGinn wants the city to relive it all.

He's put together a team with one mission - bring the music back.

It's not like it was in the early nineties, that's for sure says Charles Cross, the guy who wrote the book, literally on Kurt Cobain and other Seattle music legends.

"The Seattle music scene was very strong and diverse. There were a number of bands that were part of a great club scene, downtown has changed dramatically from the era."

Cross points to police stings, noise ordinances, and teen dancing restrictions that combined to stifle what Seattle was proud of, "There used to be a time in Seattle where we cared more about the club scene than we did about real estate."

But now Mayor Mike McGinn says that won't do, "It's an expression of who we are, it's an expression of who we are as a community.

So the Mayor has appointed a commission to bring back the music. The commission is made up of 21 musicians and industry leaders. Ben London's one of them, he heads the recording academy Pacific Northwest chapter, "I mean we've gone from everything from Seattle becoming synonymous with popular music in the early 90's through the grunge explosion to fighting the restrictive teen dance ordinance.

The commission meets Wednesday night for the first time. McGinn hopes to have some proposals in by July.

But will Seattle ever again be the center of the music world? Cross says the proof in the pudding is whether some of these policies that stifle music will get changed.
