NEW YORK (November 18, 2010) − On the cusp of their 20th anniversary, Pearl Jam, one of the most popular and influential bands in the world, has concluded three long-term worldwide exclusive administration deals (excluding the U.S.) with leading global independent publisher Kobalt Music Group (Kobalt).
The announcement was made today by Willard Ahdritz, CEO and Founder of Kobalt.
Through the agreements, Kobalt will immediately begin administration of Pearl Jam’s forthcoming new material, and assume administration of their first two multi−million selling global smash albums, Ten and vs. In addition, Kobalt will administer all of lead singer/songwriter Eddie Vedder’s solo catalog including his critically−acclaimed soundtrack to Into The Wild and the song “Better Days” from the Eat Pray Love soundtrack, plus new solo works. In 2012, the rest of Pearl Jam’s entire back catalog (featuring the albums Vitalogy, No Code, Yield, Binaural, Riot Act, Pearl Jam, Backspacer) will move to Kobalt.
As part of the new relationship, Kobalt will additionally handle synch licensing and promotion of Pearl Jam repertoire and Eddie Vedder solo repertoire for use in motion pictures, TV advertising, games, ringtones, and other media.
“We’re extremely proud and honored to be working with Pearl Jam and look forward to a long relationship with new releases and other exciting activity planned for their 20th anniversary in 2011,”said Ahdritz, “I’d like to also acknowledge Merril Wasserman, our Sr. VP Business Development, who was instrumental in executing this deal on behalf of Kobalt.”
Executives involved in the deal included Willard Ahdritz; Elliot J. Groffman of Carroll, Guido & Groffman, attorney for Pearl Jam; Kelly Curtis of Curtis Management, manager for Pearl Jam; Jamie Cheek of Flood, Bumstead, McCready & McCarthy, business manager for Pearl Jam; and Michele Anthony, consultant to Pearl Jam and their label, Monkeywrench Records.

Pearl Jam and other artists including Jack Johnson and Maroon 5 are teaming up to help the environment. EW.com has up a new article about it, here are some excerpts:
The Patagonia Music Collective will charge $.99 for each track, with net proceeds going directly to the environmental organizations of the artists’ choice. Starting today, the songs will be available in Patagonia stores and on iTunes, for sale on two separate albums of 11 tracks each. Subsequently, one new benefit track is to be released each week.
Other exclusive tracks include a live version of the Zac Brown Band’s “Cold Hearted,” Mason Jennings’ “Don’t Let the World Go Black,” Maroon 5’s acoustic take on “Wake Up Call,” and, fittingly, a live recording of Pearl Jam’s “Oceans.”

Q: Are we going to see any new Pearl Jam music this year?
A: We’re just past the embryonic stages of songwriting for the next album, and it seems to be going quick. But whether we put something out this year I just don’t know, because we’re doing all the hindsight stuff this year. We’re fully in support of that, but it’s not what fuels us. The way we write as a group, we all bring songs in and invariably in the past it would take a lot of time to get things right. Now I jump on things immediately. The band will have a piece of music with no lyrics, and now it has to be a knockout in the first round. The ones that go 15 rounds, they become harder to appreciate, because you only remember the battle after they’re done. If you can get in there right away, you capture something in those first 15 minutes. That’s the way it seems to be working best for us.
Q: What about the 20th anniversary shows?
A: We’re just trying to get together a bunch of friends and bands we’ve played with in the past and do a couple of shows in the States. It’ll probably all come together last minute. I don’t want to make it seem like any crazy, big deal. It should just be a natural thing. (The Band’s 1976 farewell concert) ‘The Last Waltz’ is great, one of the greatest things ever, but it had that impact because it was the last gig. For us it’ll be like ‘The Last Waltz,’ except we’ll be playing a show again the next week (laughs).

On the latest episode of Pearl Jam Radio’s All Encompassing Trip it was revealed that Pearl Jam filmed their legendary shows in Philadelphia at the Spectrum in 2009. Also, there will supposedly be some big Pearl Jam related news coming out sometime in the next week.

Ostatnio zauważyłem że,niektórzy muzycy,zespoły z długoletnim stażem, ''na starośc'' zaprzestają poszukiwan,kombinowania i grają proste,czadowe,rockowe kawałki.Czy to zle? to już kwestia gustu,chciałbym kiedyś usłyszec coś w stylu Binaural,niemniej jednak PJ się sprawdzają w tej formie,widac,że granie sprawia im radośc,nawet mi oglądając tego liva morda sie cieszyła widząc w jakiej kondycji są panowie,fajne są te chórki OLEEEE!!

Mi się podoba, ale bez szału. Tzn. mocno brzmi tutaj Backspacer, a ja za tą płytą średnio przepadam, więc to chyba dlatego :) (mimo wszystko tradycyjnie dodam, że uwielbiam perkusję Matta)
Fajna, taki mix starego PJ z Bina czy no Code, ale mocno w stylu Backspacer'a
No code,binaural nieeee ale backspacer tak,Ten utwór mógłby się pojawić na tej płycie.Lecz jeśli chodzi o samo przemyślenie to jest to zagrane bardziej w stylu Ramones,przynajmniej w większej części. Ale tak naprawdę jak dla mnie idą w dobrym kierunku a ostatnia płyta studyjna jest najlepsza(najlepsza mam na myśli nie dołująca)
